Pesto Prawn Pasta Recipe

When you’re looking for a quick and easy dinner that’s full on flavours, this prawn pesto pasta is perfect – even better with homemade pesto!

400g Big Prawn Jumbo King prawns
400g spaghetti
1 garlic clove
80g parmesan cheese, grated
50g fresh basil
20g pine nuts
Drizzle of extra virgin olive oil


  • Using a pestle and mortar, crushed the garlic with a pinch of salt until a paste
  • Add the basil leaves and crush them and then add the pine nuts, pine nuts, and the drizzle of olive oil. If the mixture is too dry, add more olive oil
  • Cook the pasta in boiling water until al dente
  • In a frying pan with oil, add the prawns and cook 3 minutes per side until fully cooked
  • Drain the pasta, keeping some of the pasta water
  • Add the pasta and a ladle of pasta water to the prawns
  • Add the pesto and mix until full coated
  • If the pasta is too dry, add some more pasta water
  • Serve with fresh parmesan

Top Tip: If you’re in a rush, use shop-bought pesto
