Black Garlic Butter Mussels Recipe

This mussel dish is quick and easy with sweet yet earthy flavours! The black garlic is a unique flavour profile that works amazingly served simply with fresh crusty bread.

500g mussels, shelled
40g unsalted butter
1 tbsp Black garlic paste
1 tbsp water
Bunch of curly parsley, chopped
1 tsp Pastis or Pernod Ricard
Salt and pepper


  • In a large pan, add the butter and black garlic paste
  • Add the mussels and stir for 3 minutes
  • Add the water and pastis. Cook for 2 minutes
  • Add the herbs and season to taste
