10 Aug Good Luck Craig – on his ‘Lap of Anglia’ Charity Cycle ride
We are very proud to be supporting Craig, our Commercial Director, for his sponsored cycle ride. The brave ‘Lap of Anglia’ cyclists will be highlighting the area covered by the East Anglian Air Ambulance by cycling a 400 mile round trip from King’s Lynn around Anglia. Starting from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn on Wednesday 10th August the 50+ fundraisers will be skirting the boundary of East Anglia, some 400 miles over 4 days taking in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, finishing back at the QEH on the evening of Saturday 13th they hope to generate awareness of the area covered by the Ambulance while also raising enough money to cover one day of rescue missions.
Craig started cycling as a boy, going to and from school and with friends for fun. He has recently taken it up as a sport and has joined a local cycling club, Sandringham and West Norfolk Cyclists, He says “The lap is a great opportunity to raise money for a local and worthwile cause’ which is something we hope we will never need but one that provides a vital service to everyone in the region. I was able to witness first-hand the superb work and dedicated staff of an air ambulance crew during last month’s Ride London 100.”
‘The Big Prawn Company always likes to support the local community and when I signed up to do the lap the company was very supportive and has pledged £10 per mile – that’s a whopping £4,000 in support for the Air Ambulance – fantastic’, said Craig.
If you see ‘The Lappers’ out on the roads of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or Bedfordshire please give them a toot and a friendly wave and any spare change!
